Guidelines, eligibility criteria and nomination requirements for the 4th ICBSM Awards 2026

Applicants must be Life Members of the Society for Bioresource and Stress Management.
This award was instituted in 2013 by the Ratikanta Maiti Foundation to encourage and motivate young scientists to pursue high-quality fundamental or applied research in agriculture and allied disciplines. The award is open to all scientists/researchers.
Eight (8) Young Scientist Awards, one in each thematic area of the conference, will be presented in recognition of outstanding contributions to research and scientific advancement.

Eight (8) Outstanding Scientist Awards, one in each thematic area of the conference, will be presented in recognition of outstanding contributions to research and scientific advancement.
One (1) Lifetime Achievement Award will be conferred in recognition of exceptional and sustained contributions, distinguished achievements, and lifelong dedication to research, education and scientific advancement.
One (1) Ratikanta Maiti Memorial Research Award will be conferred in recognition of outstanding research contributions and significant achievements in the field of plant stress physiology.
The late Raktim Ranjan Bhagowati was a dynamic and inspiring faculty member of the Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding, School of Agricultural Sciences (formerly the School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development). He had the distinction of being the first author in the inaugural issue of the International Journal of Bio-resource and Stress Management, published in June 2010.
The Raktim Ranjan Bhagowati Memorial Best Ph.D. Thesis Award has been instituted in honour of his outstanding contributions to the field. One (1) award will be conferred in recognition of outstanding doctoral research with significant outcomes.
Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications along with duly completed score cards and documentary proof.
Three (3) Fellowships shall be conferred on Life Members of the Society. Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications in the prescribed format, along with duly completed score cards and documentary proof supporting their research contributions, academic achievements and professional accomplishments.
Innovative Farmer Awards shall be conferred on four (4) farmers (two men and two women) for outstanding farm-level innovations supported by a published success story.
Restricted to editorial board members and reviewers
Four (4) Best Editor Awards will be conferred in recognition of outstanding editorial contributions, dedication and excellence in scholarly publishing among members of the Editorial Boards of the Society's journals: two (2) for the International Journal of Bioresource and Stress Management, one (1) for the International Journal of Economic Plants, and one (1) for the Chronicle of Bioresource and Stress Management. Awardees shall be selected by the Society on the basis of the contributions, commitment and performance of editorial board members. No application is required; selection will be made directly by the Judging Committee.
Seven (7) Best Reviewer Awards will be conferred in recognition of outstanding contributions to scholarly publishing among reviewers of the Society's journals: four (4) for the International Journal of Bioresource and Stress Management, two (2) for the International Journal of Economic Plants, and one (1) for the Chronicle of Bioresource and Stress Management. Awardees shall be selected by the Society/Foundation on the basis of the contributions, commitment and performance of the reviewers.
Open to conference participants only
One (1) Best Oral Presentation Award shall be given in each session, based on the quality of the research work and its presentation.
One (1) Best Poster Presentation Award shall be given in each session.
The judging committee of each session shall evaluate the e-posters and submit its report to the Award Committee.
Nomination Submission: A PDF copy of the nomination in the prescribed proforma, complete in all respects and supported by documentary proof of eligibility, publications and testimonials, must be emailed to the Convener, 4th ICBSM 2026, at osbsmconf@gmail.com .
